Jamaica

Jamaica is one of the island countries of the Caribbean. Jamaica was originally an Indian residence, but in 1494 Columbus discovered it, and soon after that it became a Spanish colony; in 1655, Jamaica was occupied by the British Empire and became one of the Commonwealth member countries.

Jamaica is also a sports power and has excellent performance in the track and field. It won 4 golds, 4 silvers and 4 coppers in London Olympic Games, ranking the eighteenth. From the first time when it participated in the Olympic Games to get 1 silver to 2012 when it has accumulatively won 10 golds, 18 silvers and 15 coppers. Most of these medals were won in the track and field. Bolt is the most famous athlete in the country. Up to the end of 2012, Jamaica famous sprinter Bolt has won 17 gold medals, including six Olympic gold medals and seven world records.

More than 90 percent of the people in Jamaica are African blacks and have a tendency to be generally younger, with about 60 percent of the population under 29 years of age.
