Malawi

Malawi, known as the Republic of Malawi in full, is a landlocked country located in the southeastern part of Africa. It is surrounded by Tanzania, Mozambique and Zambia with an area of 118,000 square kilometers and a population of 15.18 million. Malawi is named after the Lake Malawi inside the country. The lake is the third largest lake in Africa with an area of 30,000 square kilometers, its depth is as deep as 700 meters, and there are many unique species of freshwater fish in the world.

Malawi is one of the world's least developed countries and is heavily dependent on international assistance. The economy is dominated by agriculture, with the main economic crops including: tobacco, coffee, tea, cotton and sugar cane. Tobacco is the most important economic crop, tobacco-related industries absorb 70% of the country's labor force employment, while tobacco is Malawi's largest foreign exchange source, accounting for 60% of the national foreign exchange earnings, and its tobacco is mainly sold to Europe.

Malawi was once a British colony and remained in the Commonwealth after its independence, therefore was deeply influenced by the British, with its administration, justice, education and so on taking the British model, and so far the United Kingdom is still its most important aid. More than 70% of its population believe in Christianity, 20% of its population believe in Islam, while India, Pakistan and Lebanese businessmen have strong economic strength and have a dominant position in many economic areas.
