Shandong (simplified Chinese: 山东; traditional Chinese: 山东; pinyin: Shāndōng; Wade-Giles: Shan-tung) is a coastal province of eastern People's Republic of China. Its abbreviation is Lǔ, after the state of Lu that existed here during the Spring and Autumn Period.

Shandong's name is literally translated as: east of the mountain, which refers to the province's location east of the Taihang Mountains. The province is located in the lower reaches of the Huang He (Yellow River) and extends out to sea in the form of the Shandong Peninsula. Shandong borders the Bohai Sea to the north, Hebei to the northwest, Henan to the west, Jiangsu to the south, and the Yellow Sea to the southeast; it also shares a very short border with Anhui, between Henan and Jiangsu.

A common nickname for Shandong is Qílǔ, after the state of Lu and state of Qi that existed here during the Spring and Autumn Period.

Shandong Foundry Association

Shandong Foundry Association has existing membership of 356 groups and enterprises. Its scope of businesses: industry management with approval of government departments; making positive proposals for governments to develop industry development planning; reinforcement of business visit and communication activities at home or abroad; collection of scientific and technological information of foundry; editing and publishing the journal Casting News of Shandong Province; organizing the training of technical and managerial personnel; exchanges on technical consultation, technical service, technology development, and know-how information; promotion of new standards, new technology, new equipment, and new products to improve the overall level of Shandong foundry; and other activities beneficial to Shandong foundry.
